2006, Astralwerks
VINYL FORMAT. Following the tremendous commercial and critical acclaim of Air's 2004 album Talkie Walkie, instrumentalist JB Dunckel took some time away from the group setting and started writing purely for himself as an experiment. Recorded entirely at his own studio, these ten songs that make up his first solo shine through with the sparkingly rich musicality that JB has demonstrated consistently throughout his 10-year tenur with Air. From the George Harrison-esque "At The End Of The Sky" to the dubby trip-hop of "Earth", to the bratty lo-fi pop of "TV Destroy", these songs are at once sentimental, humorous and philosophical ruminations on love, family, and the environment, sung with the same sweetly disarming grace that characterized Air's hit single "Sexy Boy". This is a musical detour that will temporary satisfy any Air fan's craving for new material.
