2008, Sub Pop Records
Released on the verge of Seattle's becoming a buzzword in early 1992, Love Battery's second LP, Dayglo, was lost in the shuffle of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Mudhoney, which is unfortunate, because the record is a brilliant amalgamation of Northwest rock and Beatles-styled pop psychedelia. Tracks like Out of Focus, Foot, and Blonde swirl with dizzying pace and guitar effects. See Your Mind and Cool School add to the other tracks' intricacies with a more standard hard rock approach. Though the subtle nature of Kevin Whitworth's guitar and Ron Nine's slurred words may take a while to sink in, Dayglo is imbued with a highly energetic style and creative force. ~ Matt Carlson, All Music Guide
