2011, Captured Tracks
Like any band worth paying attention to, New York trio Silk Flowers has been constantly shifting since they started. Beginning with a raw, punk-informed foundation to their damaged synth-pop leanings, each subsequent release saw the band shedding skin, bounding from reverb-heavy four-track hiss to disjointed murky instrumental sprawl, and most recently upping production to almost club-worthy standards. Days Of Arrest strays from the glossy veneer of their last full length and finds a much colder, hyper-focused territory than all previous work.
