The Telescopes were arguably the most underrated British band from the late 80s/early 90s shoegazer movement, overshadowed by fellow Creation bands, Ride and My Bloody Valentine. With his new band, Lawrie takes that movement's sound and reels it all in, spewing it back out laced with bile. At once raw and melodic, the songs lyrics read like the story for a lost Japanime film. Lawrie plays the lead, belting out the lyrics, 'Got an automatic urge/Like a gremlin in the infrared/Got an automatic urge/They put a radar in my head', spinning a tale of espionage and intrigue that would make James Bond shake in his designer suit." - Alstoemeria
