2009, Kill Shaman
Night Control is the bedroom masterpiece of a man named Christopher Curtis Smith. Chris was the front-man for the post-hardcore band Emery in the mid-nineties and has been experimenting with four tracks, found sounds, digital manipulation and multiinstrumentalism over the past ten years. Having produced a library of close to 300 songs, Night Control is by far the most prolific artist Kill Shaman's ever encountered. Death Control is the amalgamation of over ten years of self-experimentation. Through breakups, breakdowns, highs and lows, Night Control has finely tuned his recording process, embracing pop structures and chaos theory. If Derrida, Brian Eno and Stevie Wonder merged minds, Night Control would be the result. Brilliant swirls of pop sensibility, mindless noise raging through reverb-drenched guitars and pianos, echo-laden vocal and drum machines, and beautiful spacious ambience.
