Desert Ocean

The ten songs on Desert Ocean were inspired by Henry Frayne's recent travels across the U.S. and Europe and conjure the natural beauty the guitarist soaked up while touring in support of his last album. The winding roads, mountain canyons and beautiful scenery he experienced are marvelously captured in the album's ambient guitar-scapes. Amazingly, Frayne achieves this through relatively modest means. Employing just a few classic guitars and joined only by recording mate Eric Gebow on drums, Lanterna's sound is completely enveloping, harkening back at times to the psychedelic sonic washes of early Pink Floyd.
