2005, Magic Marker Records
Tullycraft was born out of the ashes of two Harriet Records cult bands: Crayon and Wimp Factor 14. Sean Tollefson, Jeff Fell (both of Crayon) and Gary Miklusek hooked up in 1995. After a couple guest appearances with the band, Chris Munford (Incredible Force of Junior) joined Tullycraft in 1998. Munford contributed keyboards, second guitar and recording engineering to the second full length, City of Subarus, on Cher Doll Records. In 2001, the band started playing together again and soon began working on new songs. Harold Hollingsworth (Sno-Boy), who had played with the band between the first two albums, was re-recruited to play second guitar on the new material. The result was the third proper full length, Beat, Surf, Fun, on Magic Marker Records, and Tullycraft emerged from their extended absence in style. While Beat, Surf, Fun showcased Tullycraft’s pop sensibilities and their ability to write about the very pop scene they are so incessantly involved with, Disenchanted Hearts Unite adds more meaning and production to improve on their cult status. A lot of things have happened since the last album: break-ups, marriage, fatherhood, a European tour – so these new hits are not only catchy but have a hint of reflection. Tullycraft already have a cult following, and this is the album that will make them the pop stars they truly should be.
