Dismemberment Plan is Terrified (CD)
The Plan's second album finds them louder and higher-fi than ever before, with their acerbic wit honed to a keen edge. Winner!

| Aaaaah, the sound of brilliance. The Dismemberment Plan protrude so much of this wonderful musk that it could...well...change the face of Indie rock? Oh wait. It already did.
The Dismemberment Plan Is Terrified, as with all of their albums, brings in influences from almost every single genre and style of music and reprocess it in their own signature sound. The band is made up of great musicians, and all of them play a part without overshadowing one another. Travis Morrison's voice works as just another instrument, played as flexible as the rest, moving from quick, emotive sing-speak to his pretty croon, making for some great variety in each of the songs. They are all differentiated with the original hooks the band shoves into them, and they somehow manage to make the breakdown in "That's When the Party Started" make sense. That takes talent, and I'd say that The Plan has more than enough to spare.

| I have to brag: The Plan played in my living room a couple years ago, just before the whole Interscope fiasco. Much fun. Much.
This record is one of my all time favorites. From the chaotic start of "Tonight We Mean It" to the majestic finish of "Respect Is Due," ...Is Terrified is a masterpiece. Not to mention "The Ice Of Boston," maybe the best indie-rock song ever (right up there with Slint's "Good Morning, Captain").

| haha...Hugh's review is funny. seriously though, this band is so unpredictable and fun you just gotta love them. this record has the same style of songwriting as the first album, but a much more solid recording. just don't listen to this too much, because you WON'T be able to get these songs out of your head. | |

| The D-plan tests out new areas of music in this strangely titled record. The songs sound as weird as the title, capturing a wide spectrum of emotions ranging from franticly goofy to utterly depressing. Overall, this album has a much more polished sound than their first album and the song writing has improved. It's not for everyone, but those who get it will love it. | |

| Terrified is an excellent example of what this band can do. You get a sense of communication between the band members in their music. Their ability to play together is truly amazing. | |

| It must have been an act of Satan for a major record label to sign a band which produces such unlistenable, grating noise.
This band manages to perfect a sound that brings to mind They Might Be Giants pumped through a turkey call.
Do not be fooled by the reviews of band members and girlfriends! The Dismemberment Plan is Terrible.
