In 2004, Ken Griffin (Rollerskate Skinny) joined forces with four members of Jagjaguwar's now defunct psych-pop band Aspera. They released their first 7-inch, toured, and now offer this stellar debut, mixed by Victor Van Vugt (P.J. Harvey, The Fall, The Pogues). With songs reveling in emotional extremes, the album is at once intimate, muscular, vulnerable, and arrestingly beautiful.
