2003, Acuarela (Spain)

After walking a 10-year path, the band headed by Antonio Luque, a real cult figure in the Spanish independent scene, proves that he continues to treasure equal doses of talent and inspiration. "El ventrílocuo de sí mismo" (the ventriloquist of himself) is the seventh studio album in a career which has also been prolific in the production of EPs, versions, re-editions and compilations; yet another homage to obscure and personal pop, signed by an artist who is admired as much by other artists (from Migala to Piano Magic, passing through Manta Ray or Nacho Vegas) as by the music press in Spain and also in countries like France. Something like the perfect mix between "Brotherhood" (New Order), and the first homonymous album of The Smiths, providing it can be said, at this point, that Sr. Chinarro sounds more or less like something other than Sr. Chinarro.
