2004, No Quarter
Quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most exciting and new sounds coming out of New York, and with a momentum of press in the Village Voice, Alternative Press and Time Out, Electric Turns To Me makes its recorded debut with a self-titled EP on No Quarter.

Formed in the summer of 2002 by Blake Fleming (ex-Laddio Bolocko, the Mars Volta), Marcus DeGrazia (ex-Laddio Bolocko), guitarist James Wilk (ex-Imaginary Numbers) and German singer Silke, ETTM draws the best inspiration and instrumentation from the most creative bands of the ‘60s (Love, Pretty Things, The Doors), and update it for the new millennium. Featuring imaginative powerhouse drumming, keyboard-propelled bass and vintage organ melodies, intertwined guitars, and Silke’s strong vocals which recall, if anything, a more world weary, less glam Siouxsie Sioux, ETTM create intricate searching pop songs, achieving that delicate balance of using familiar sounds and elements, yet presenting them in a wholly original way. With their explosive and powerful live show, the band has quickly ascended to become a regular in the NYC club scene.

found it in a used bin this weekend while in the mountains. drove home listening to it four or five times in a row.

complicted arrangements. intense vocals. decent lyrics.

silke reminds me of siouxsie, but also of toyah wilcox and saffron (republica) - i'd love to work on some music with this woman at the mic.

brilliant EP!
