Pele' was formed in 1997 by Scott Beschta (The Promise Ring, New Rising Sons), Scott Schoenbeck (Alligator Gun, The Promise Ring), Chris Rosenau (Loomis) and John Mueller (Telecognac). "Not a lot to do with unlaced white trainers, but even post-rock has got an old school. Not old skool and wildstyle, mind, but sometimes a bit more self-consciously intellectual. The educational establishment Pele' are part of is a place where they learned to do very hard sums." - NME
