22 tracks (!!) from the ever-prolific Capstan Shafts. If I'm not mistaken, I believe this is their first full length, and first foray onto factory-pressed digital format... for the home-fi indiepop lover in all of us. 'The Capstan Shafts began as a project to make field recordings of sunshine, or (more specifically) of sunflowers, or (less specifically) of high school productions of Eugene Ienescos 'rhinoceros'. On the trip out of town I noticed a young women in a lawn chair counting cars passing for the state. The project expanded to include documenting the stories of some of the countrys state cars passing counting ladies and, in some cases, ogling them. While gathering supplies at the local grocery store I was struck by the enormous ogling oppurtunities available right in my own home town. Chastened, I returned to what would later be referred to as 'my apartment'........and there was the recording equipment............' --Dean Edward Wel
