2000, Drive-In
More lovely atmospheric
jangle-grooviness coinciding with the single above⦠While earlier singles
hinted at it, CLOCK STRIKES THIRTEEN's debut album fully realizes the band's
multidimensional sound present throughout their wistful pop
songs--accentuated by dashes of soul, country, and baroque/jangle pop to
name a few. The album features additional instrumentation featuring
glockenspiel, strings and French horn, in addition to the standard core
lineup. With heartbreaking vocal harmonies and attention to the melodic and
rhythmic details in their music. Includes re-recorded versions of "One Cold
Day" and "I Blinked My Eyes And You Were Gone", as well as an extended album
version of "When We Were Together", A-side's culled from their slew of
singles released on Drive-In, Tinseltones (Scotland) and Liquefaction Empire
(England).
