Franklin is the new side project by Franck Rabbeyrolles, who's also the guy behind French minimal/pop electronic project, Double U. After four albums for various labels (Sonar Kollektiv, Karat, Nocturne), Frank decided to make a break and create a new identity. What you'll hear is pure love for psychedelicism, weird '60s sounds, and old school electro. Franklin is a type of mutant pop, a very special combination of vintage future analog synths and drum machines, some echo guitars without treacle-y nostalgia, toy pianos, dub effects and sweet vocals mixed with a modern and surreal hybrid pop - a project not so far from artists like Broadcast, Beach House, or The Notwist. After releasing a successful limited 12", Wool Recordings proudly presents the debut album by Franklin: these 13 songs explore new directions in the construction of modern pop music, with '90s indie-rock influences crossing bleeps against mellow West Coast '60s vibes.
