2005, Soft Abuse
Primitive drum whallops, blurts of distorted (broken?) synthesizers, white noise blankets, otherworldly guitar sounds & immediate, megaphoned vocals (from Duckling) fill Faktory!, the first proper CD release from Dunnedin's The Futurians. It's chaotic distorto-rock for the new age. It's analog futurism performed by a group of sci-fi addicted noise freaks. It's Wolf Eyes meets The Troggs, Teenage Jesus & the Jerks meets This Kind of Punishment. Despite the references, Futurians really are like no other. Features the should-be-legendary Clayton Noone (CJA, Armpit, The Strange Girls, Claypipe) on massive guitar.
