2001, Parasol
New album from Champaign-Urbana guitar-quirk revivalists
SIGNALMEN, featuring former members of oldschool Parasol faves LONELY TRAILER,
WEIRD SUMMER, The OUTNUMBERED, PROOF OF UTAH, TURNING CURIOUS, and NICK RUDD’s
BLOWN. SIGNALMEN express themselves as songwriters in the dueling guitar
convolution and dual vocals recalling TELEVISION’s tangle, blending that
classic act’s cerebral six-string work with the majestic melancholy of THIN
WHITE ROPE and the acidic trend-trashing of The VELVET UNDERGROUND. Featuring
the songwriting finesse of Mike Brosco (Proof Of Utah) and Steve Burton
(Lonely
Trailer), ‘Falsetto Teeth’ also includes the playing of drummer Jeff Evans
(Turning Curious), guitarist Tim McKeage (Outnumbered, Weird Summer), and JUNE
& The EXIT WOUNDS maestro Todd Fletcher who adds keyboards to four of the
twelve tracks.
