Feel Good Lost

"Onstage Broken Social Scene is an expanded, easy-going pop ensemble featuring Leslie Feist, Andrew Whiteman and others. On disc, it's Brendan Canning, Kevin Drew and some friends in a basement making largely instrumental music that goes nowhere and everywhere at the same time. There's gorgeous, organic flow to 'Feel Good Lost.' Nothing sounds rushed or particularly deliberate. Subtle guitar lines swell out to include strings, sounds are manipulated, keyboards gurgle and trumpet, and banjo slips into the mix unnoticed. At times, it sounds like the record Tortoise should have made rather than their bloated 'Standards' disc, but overall, Drew and Canning sound like they they're having too much fun to be thinking that much." --NOW magazine
