2005, LTM
REISSUE. Kalima were formed in late 1983 from the ashes of the Swamp Children, whose sole album was reissued by LTM earlier in 2004. Purveyors of smooth latin, jazz and funk flavours, the band released three superb albums on Factory between 1986 and 1990, and earned widespread respect for their vaulting ambition and commitment to forms soon discarded by the superficial ‘New Jazz’ movement of the mid 1980s.
Originally released in August 1990, Feeling Fine was their third album and saw the band really hit their stride after losing several key members, when Martin Moscrop, Jeremey Kerr and Andy Connell left to concentrate on A Certain Ratio. In their place came new musicians Matthew Taylor, Bernard Moss and Warren Sharples, Andy Boothman and Ian Kelly
