The band Murder By Death were approached by science fiction/fantasy writer Jeff Vandermeer to write an instrumental soundtrack to his new book Finch, and they accepted! Each song attempts to recreate a scene or mood from the book. To quote the band: "We locked ourselves up in our friend's Farm Fresh Studio in Bloomington, IN for five days and wrote and recorded . . . we have used a lot of crazy techniques that we have never tried before . . . Our old pianist Vincent Edwards lent his hand(s) at the piano, organs and Rhodes."
