2000, Parasol
Debut album, 5 years in the making, from LEVY, former
singer/guitarist for The SNEETCHES…
MIKE LEVY is part of the new 70s-influenced Soft Pop Scene, a pantheon
populated by acts like US acolytes JUNE & The EXIT WOUNDS and LINUS Of
HOLLYWOOD, classic disco-decade soft-rockers like ELTON JOHN and HARRY
NILSSON. LEVY is joined by former SNEETCHES members for piano driven pop
with ornate instrumentation, not overtly flashy like BEN FOLDS or Sir ELTON,
but stylishly contained, like WINGS, for instance. Sweet ballads and upbeat
guitar-tales, the essence of 60s pop and 70s soft-rock, sound familiars, in
that your-very-favorite-song-on-an-obscure-album sort of way.
