2010, Important Records
Floating Japanese Oof! Gardens of the Twenty-First Century was originally released on the DeStijl label in 2005, spread out over three LPs in hand-glued packaging featuring colorful prints of Matthew Bower's compelling artwork. To date, it remains a singular release in the Hototogisu discography. "True to the evocation of the duo's name, that of a Japanese songbird heralding the coming summer, the music plays with contemplative bliss and edged rock psychosis." - Byron Coley and Thurston Moore (in Arthur Magazine)
