Modernizing the classic {girl group} sound for the {dream pop} era, the song is a dramatic departure from previous Lush singles, peeling back their wailing wall of sound to emphasize Miki Berenyi's girlish vocals and Emma Anderson's simple but lovely guitar. The cumulative effect is stunning -- though no less cinematic or otherworldly as past efforts, For Love is Lush's most direct and poignant moment, seamlessly fusing human drama with sonic grandeur.
