From the Vapor of Gasoline

Recorded by Andy Baker (Macha, Causey Way, Mendoza Line) in Athens, GA, this record clearly shows the band's progression as songwriters and musicians. Less minimal (more complex?) than their debut on Boxcar Records due to the adoption of additional instrumentations (i.e. vibraphones), The Mercury Program successfully weave jazz-induced drums with rhythmic basslines and off-time guitars. Quiet, spoken vocals add to the mix to create a truly classic record. Look for a forthcoming summer tour with the likes of The Album Leaf, The Boom and Engine Down.
