The ever prolific Liz Phair is back with her first release, Funstyle, in five years. The alternative rock icon is challenging her fans and critics with a bold new album that revisits some of her classic style while breaking new ground. Phair's work has always been thought provoking and controversial. Hot off the heels of the successful re-issue of Exile on Guysville comes the hot new self produced Funstyle. As a special bonus for Liz fans, she is opening up her vaults and allowing the release of the legendary and highly sought after Girlysound Tapes. The Girlysound Tapes are Liz's earliest known recordings. These original hand-made cassettes started the buzz that led her to getting signed to the influential Matador Records. These tapes have never been commercially released and will be packaged as a bonus disc to the Funstyle release.
