2004, Rough Trade/Sanctuary
Lo-fi, man-child bedroom pop from one half of the legendary Moldy Peaches. Without his partner, Kimya Dawson, Adam is a bit mellower, but his pop inclinations are great and his songs make you feel like you are listening to his most private, odd preoccupations. There is one genius, Stone-esque rave up, but the rest are hummable, anti-folk songs from a man whose mind seems to be shared by an eleven year old and a dirty old man.

Andy MitchellWhile some people call what Green does quirky, I find it to be annoying and self-indulgent. I don't mind humor in rock or folk music; I just don't find Green funny. (I'm just not a fan of scatological humor or pronouncing "whore", "woo-er".) Also, the lo-fi production doesn't bring the music any made-at-home charm. It just feels like a poorly thought-out demo.
