Young Nashville, Tennessee garage rock quartet Be Your Own Pet return with their sophomore album, Get Awkward. The 15-track set showcases the distinctly big voice of frontwoman Jemina Pearl Abegg, who cuts easily through the thrashing accompaniment of guitarist Jonas Stein, bassist Nathan Vasquez and drummer John Eatherly. The follow-up to 2006's self-titled debut was produced by Redd Kross' Steve McDonald, who was also at the controls the first time around.
