John Atkins of 764-HERO and Joe Plummer of THE BLACK HEART PROCESSION have teamed up to form THE MAGIC MAGICIANS, and they've got a full length record to prove it. They'll tell you that it's not a side project¦ It's just another project. Here are ten home-style recorded tracks of slightly off-kilter pop goodness all made in the company of friends. On and off for the past two years, the two aimed to write songs that rip off BIG STAR, T REX and THE BEATLES. While none of the songs come out sounding too much like those bands, they do come out sounding damn fine! THE MAGICIANS' Girls was recorded in various houses, apartments and a theater that is now a reggae nightclub and guests a slew of notables including Janet Weiss of SLEATER-KINNEY, Coady Willis of MURDER CITY DEVILS, Polly Johnson of 764-HERO and Mike Johnson.
