2004, Epic
At last! Modest Mouse's anxiously awaited follow-up to 2001's "The Moon and Antarctica." The 16-track 'Good News' was produced by Dennis Herring (Camper Van Beethoven, Throwing Muses) and is led by the rollicking, ultra-catchy single "Float On." The album features the debut of new drummer Benjamin Weikel, as well as the return of original guitarist Dan Gallucci, who returned after his other band, The Murder City Devils, broke up. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band (!) guests on "The Devil's Workday," while Dave Fridmann and the Flaming Lips remixed the album track "The Good Times Are Killing Me." Released April 2004.
