The Weigh Down was conceived in January of 1999 in the back of a 1984 Chevy Explorer van headed south on I-95. By April they reached Keith Souza's infamous Samson Sound recording studio, where Mr. Souza put up carefully selected microphones, turned small knobs, and operated his analog tape recorder machine. One may hear that day for herself by listening to the five song CD-ep released later that year by Garbage Czar Records. Since the release of said ep, The Weigh Down have busied themselves by playing (whenever possible) for gatherings at various clubs, pubs, and basements around the Northeast, and by writing and recording (again with Mr. Souza) a series of songs available now from a new label tagged Meeting and Passing. And sometimes - no, often - they can be caught stealing bicycles, on which they pop stylish wheelies.
