VINYL FORMAT! RED MONKEY return from a yearlong hiatus with a new full length entitled Gunpowder, Treason, and Plot. The band has been playing together for almost six years and it shows in these songs. Their signature dance-style anthems are still present, but underneath a more personal and mature sound is developing. They are experimenting with horns and vocal layers, as well as time structures. The new songs sound more like THE EX than GANG OF FOUR. Lyrically, these are their most political and engaging yet. This mix of intricate (yet somehow minimal) song writing and amazing lyrics brings us their most solid release to date.
