VINYL FORMAT. Instead of finding a room where the only thing you can hear is your heartbeat, HEALTH recorded their debut LP in one of their favorite places. The Smell is an all ages music venue in downtown Los Angeles. It is open and brick and dirty and dark, but when you sing a church hymnal or hit a drum as hard as you can, the sound is beautiful. They also went out and found equipment born at the same time as The Smell. Mostly ribbon microphones designed by the BBC for 1930's radio broadcasts - things George Martin liked. HEALTH is 11 songs in less than thirty minutes - on it there is new music with old sounds. In addition to their debut, many remixes of HEALTH are in the works from Curses! (NYC), Captain Ahab (LA), Drop The Lime (NYC), and others. HEALTH are also set to release a split 7" with 8-bit glitch duo, Crystal Castles.
