In 1996, with bertie pearson on trombone and shane scott lighting fireworks j.christian king sang along with "nature boy" on phonograph at a party at the oakland house, it was called Hello lovers; i think it was jessica morro's birthday. Built as the default music/performance, vehicle for it's founder. hello lovers found it's voice in the year long exercise of an negro spirituals workshop coordinated by composer j.c. king in 2001. Tragedy and excess aside the path of poorly directed willfullness led to the creation of the current chamber group in 2005; with missouri born kansas city trained mollie fischer, juarez mexicos gift to the conservatory of moskow masha poloskova and one of austin's most prolific sidemen and acclaimed composer for the celebrated spank dance co. andy hadaway. in mr. king's words "i'm really fucking a
mazed that i get to work with these people and about this music we're working on right now", more to come. (or) At root a quartet Hello Lovers is a strange, fashionable and evocative fruit; Masha Poloskova-violin , Mollie Fischer-cello, pianist multi-instrumentalist Andy Hadaway and hannah liddell-pianist, combine to make the legs of this chamber pop ensemble. With composer/singer J.C. King's unique synthesis of linear and modal song structures, aptly described as "southern gothic" endorsing improvisation method, with alternately light and dark however consistently romantic themes. Hello Lovers creates readily palletable song offerings of broad, rich harmonies and kinetic movement. The group has spent the better part of 2007 writing, performing and recording their follow up to 2006’s acclaimed Vanity Fair EP (inchworm records). Tracked at cacophony recorders in Austin, TX with Eric Wafford and at Means of Production studio where they recorded their debut EP. This new work, a full length LP entitled Gone with the Wind, is a stunning document of hard work and a prolific year. The music shows a new refinement and cultivation of the quartet's ambition for adventurous and dynamic arrangement and showcases new work with larger orchestration (from euphonium to sea harp), a queue of more to come....oh and mister,
