2006, Sub Pop Records
He Got Jams! Yes he does. 'He' would be Mr. Bill Dolan, riffbuilder, stringbender and soul-sender extraordinaire. Bill plays guitar. His band is called Heroic Doses.
You may remember Bill from his days in 5ive Style, a band that at various times featured Johnny Herndon (Tortoise), Jeremy Jacobsen (The Lonesome Organist) and a whole bunch of other Wicker Park celebrities. If you haven¹t heard 5ive Style, check out their self-titled `95 Sub Pop LP. But before you 'D'.
Joining Bill D. in Heroic Doses are Ryan Rapsys (of Euphone) on trapkit and Nick Macri (C-Clamp) on plugged-in bass. No peers; these gentleman aren't afraid to rock.
To earn the money to record their eponymous debut, Heroic Doses put in some serious roadwork in the midwest and the east coast. They toured with fellow Illini Hum (along with Swervedriver) earlier this year.
This is the first album by Heroic Doses.
