History Invades

History Invades is a rarity in contradistinction to most commonly accepted forms of indie rock, or rather real indie rock, that isnt backed by major-label shareholders seeding a small independent label looking for the next big thing. Perhaps its their brand of binary-digital-punk that remains a blip on the radar screen of a mainstream patrol boat, hiding like an invisible sub developed by rogue sonic engineers and designed to continuously remain on and within the periphery, gathering information and sending it back into the current. There are others (bands) like them, hiding in the shadows, pumping electric cyber punk into the tributaries, slowly infecting those who remain in the shallows for too long, staring at the periscope disguised as a dorsal fin. Is this the wave of the future or the shape of punk to come? Maybe a blending of both would be more appropriate given the current climate of the industry. The inroad to describing their sound is paved with angular guitars, odd time signatures and sinewy bass lines accented by call and response type vocals and plenty of computer generated bleeps and bells. Make no mistake, History Invades hesitates to lean heavily on emphasizing any one instrument; instead they utilize their sonic pallet using several mediums. Water for our thirsty ears was so close, and in such flowing abundance. The beats, and the pauses, and the beats, and the beats, and the pauses, and the beats carried us the rest of the way. Finally something good, something great, had saved us in a dying world of grey and beige. History Invades exudes an eloquent way of telling us that the world we live in is not at all the world we live in, but a complex string of planned events, leading to an intricately planned uprising, and final overcome. The message: We will not be taken lightly. The execution: Genius. Save us, save us, from ordinary, and take us with you on to the battle for truly free thought, and unending love. They want what you want, and you may need them as well.
