Hoggin' the Stage

VINYL FORMAT. 180 gram vinyl housed in a gate-fold sleeve. One of the finer moments of British blues, the Groundhogs, lead by British guitar hero Tony McPhee, worshipped in the church of American blues and R&B. Devotees of John Lee Hooker, but they proved their chops in the mid sixties when Hooker selected them to back him on his British tours. However, while the Groundhogs payed a derivative sound, they were a solid band in their own right, with an especially electrifying live presence, as proven in their Hoggin' the Stage. Originally released in 1984, this album is a collection of live recordings from 1971, during a Stones tour, and a gig in Stockholm in 1976 shortly before they disbanded.
