Cinematic in vision, "Hold Back" is a glorious exercise in grand ostentation, of showtune brass and soulful backing vocals that allows Stith to gleefully sit atop, exercising his full vocal range. "Run Away" meanwhile moves towards a more orthodox template of vocals, guitar and bass—though again enshrouding it in a cavernous space, with heavy snares and toms jutting under calypso shakers and strutting bass.
