pays tribute to Living Legend CARLA OLSON! Born & raised in Austin, Texas
where she founded legendary punk band The VIOLATORS with Kathy Valentine, both
moved to L.A. to start The TEXTONES… Carla and Kathy split and Kathy soon
after joined The GO-GOs while Carla began a series of highly-acclaimed albums
with both The TEXTONES and with former BYRDS fellow GENE CLARK and later as a
solo artist. Then came the 'Midnight Mission' album (A&M) with it's stellar
songs and gueststars like RY COODER, DON HENLEY, BARRY GOLDBERG, PERCY SLEDGE,
and GENE CLARK, among others. 1991 saw one of OLSON's proudest moments, her
live duet album with former ROLLING STONES guitarist MICK TAYLOR, who ended up
playing guitar on many of CARLA's solo recordings after that… A few of those
moments are heard on this overdue retrospective 'Honest As Daylight', as are
her wonderful duets: "Del Gato" with GENE CLARK from their 1987 full-length
'So
Rebellious A Lover' album and "Honest As Daylight" with PERCY SLEDGE, from
Carla’s 1994 album 'Reap the Whirlwind'…
