The Killers are already set to win big with their debut full-length. The Las Vegas youngsters, who draw heavily on the '80s pop-rock they grew up with, have generated an industry wide buzz on the strength of their live performances and two UK-released singles. The four Killers -- Brandon Flowers on vocals and keyboards, Ronnie Vannucci on drums, Mark Stoermer on bass and Dave Keuning on guitar -- have been playing together since fall 2001. The Killers brought in some big names for their upcoming full-length, recorded last fall in Southern California. Alan Moulder (U2, Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins) mixed the album, and Brian "Big Bass" Gardner (Blink-182, Eminem) mastered it. "Don't stereotype these guys as the typical Sin City schlock as their tight harmonies, architectural songwriting, and wide-ranged vocals are loaded with substance. Count these guys amongst the return to retro movement (also including Interpol and Hot Hot Heat) but with a vintage sophistication (a la The Psychedelic Furs and Gary Numan) than most copycat bands claiming such treasured ties." --Andy Argyrakis, Illinois Entertainer
