Suicide Invoice (CD)
Hot Snakes' much-anticipated second album, "Suicide Invoice," matches the intensity of their debut while surpassing it in every other respect. Recorded by the band themselves, the sound is a collision of wailing downstrokes and booming, sinister, drone. Hot Snakes is a collaboration of members of Rocket From the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Delta 72, Mule, and Beehive and the Barracuda, with participants living on both sides of the country. "Suicide Invoice" contains a more varied assault than the debut, with more of an emphasis directed towards creating music as a band. As a result, everything sounds more cohesive and ultimately closer to the band's live sonic barrage.
