2010, Polyvinyl Record Company
The most bummed out boy in Ypsilanti comes up with another gang of songs and
sounds. Fred Thomas (Saturday Looks Good To Me, Flashpapr, And Spiders,
ex-The Sights, ex-everything) offers up 8 songs and 7 humerous interludes
and answering machine messages, ending up with his second solo album 'I
Heard The Angels Sing'. By far more cohesive and muuch more sad and
destroyed than 2002's 'Everything Is Pretty Much Totally Fucked', these
songs bring to mind the detached melancholy and hopeful endlessness of Bob
Dylan's 'Blood On The Tracks', Bright Eyes or the more depressed Ida
moments. The cover is a woodblock print of a bunny, and I swear to god, he's
pushing a tricycle!!!! Amazing.
