Loquacious and mischievous, with the energy and intensity of a man half his age, Nimrod has appeared on records, in films, across the folk festival circuit and as a guest on The Tonight Show. In 1982, folklorist/musician Mike Seeger visited Nimrod and made nearly 18 hours of recordings of Workman's songs and stories. This album draws on Seeger's recordings and gives the man his first LP release in 30 years, as well as his first ever solo CD release. It showcases Workman's huge repertoire of songs humorous and melancholy, sacred and sinful.
