Will You Find Me (CD)
Formed in 1992, Ida have quite a legacy. Line-up changes, label changes and marriage are all a part of what makes Ida such an interesting band. With three wonderful full lengths released on the historic Simple Machines record label, and a slew of singles with artists such as Portastatic and The Secret Stars the band were offered a deal with Capitol Records and thus recorded Will You Find Me. After a decision not to release the record on Capitol, the record is finally here.
Will You Find Me is a wonderful progression for the band as they were able to record this album in the manner they saw fit. Guest musicians such as Tara Jane O'Neil and Cynthia Nelson from Retsin, Warren Defever from His Name is Alive and Bernie Worrell of P-Funk all contribute to making this record the fullest and most dynamic Ida release to date. Re-recorded classics such as Shotgun and Maybelle tie in perfectly with new tracks such as Triptych and Past the Past. As a band and on Will You Find Me, Ida have created music that is able to move even the most stoic and un-interested listener as the sheer beauty of their chords and melodies rain down upon the ears like a thunderstorm in April. As a constant touring act, Ida have won the hearts of fans all over the country, as the Minneapolis City Pages states, "Every once in a while you see a band that reaffirms your faith in music" or as the Village Voice states, "?stunning?wrenchingly lovely harmonies and a sober maturity." Check it out and see for yourself.

| ...Simply the most handsomely wrought record to come out of the indie-community in quite sometime - Ida have not only outdone themselves, but raised the stakes for intelligent and heartfelt pop music..."Maybelle" "Shrug" "Past the Past" or any other track for that matter are completely brilliant lyrically and sonically - absolutely outstanding performance from a band that you almost regret recommending to a friend ('cuz ya wanna keep them your own little secret) - Ida will find themselves in my stereo for sometime to come... | |

| i find that there aren't many bands who can consistently put out music that not only progresses but leaves you wishing for more more MORE! ida can do just that. and will you find me is no exception. liz has, without a doubt, the best female voice on recording in quite some time, and you'd have to hear for yourself how perfectly the melodies & chords fit together. | |
