2003, Absolutely Kosher
The Telegraph Melts full-length CD entitled "Ilium" (that's capital i-l-i-u-m) is being lovingly released by the Absolutely Kosher label of San Francisco, CA. Absolutely Kosher sports excellent releases by Virginia Dare, P.E.E., Thingy, Franklin Bruno, The Jim Yoshii Pile Up, The Wrens, and others. AbKosh honcho Cory Brown is a saintly and nice man in our book.
Also keep an eye out for a remixed version of our song "In Eggshell Seas" on a compilation in the next issue of Tape-gun.
Bio
Telegraph Melts began as a humble exploration into the realm of the sonic psychology of the relationship between electric guitar and amplified cello. In the summer of '96, guitarist Bob Massey made a fortunate move from the bowels of Richmond, VA to scenic Arlington where he became acquainted with cellist Amy Domingues, who was struggling to reconcile her classical training with her more experimental rock instincts. Throughout the past year and a half, the duo has endeavored to break new ground in the turf of untraditional rock and through-composed genres by using secret [Now even creamier!] formulaic techniques to invade audiences' subliminal consciousnesses and wreak havoc on the pre-established notions of sensible music-making.
