Imitation

Ammi began like the scene in The Mighty Ducks where each member realizes how their unique skills can be used to create a matchless team energy that allows them to win the State Peewee League Championship. The only difference is instead of hockey, the collected members of Ammi brought their once-ridiculed school band and drama club talents together to form a band focused on writing multi-dimensional music. Growing up on artists like U2 and Bob Dylan, the band has developed an appreciation for accessibility, but constantly challenge the boundaries with experimental genre-blending and story-like song structures. Their newest EP. 'Laodicea' is a chronicle of these explorations. Released in the winter of 2005, the band spent the better parts of the year proving their hypotheses by playing beyond their northern IL hometown of Libertyville with bands like Duvall, Sleeping At Last, The Fold and by making appearances at the last two Cornerstone Festivals. The celebrations of their findings will spill over into 2006 with the release of a full length record and continued touring around the country.
