Immediate Action #2

#2 in the new Hefty "Immediate Action Series". A Grape Dope is the electronic alter ego of John Herndon best known as the drummer for the Chicago-based groups, TORTOISE & ISOTOPE 217. He has recently been working as a remixer and producer, completing work on the Aluminum Group's latest record (due out in the fall on Hefty). The sound is broad, from electro to dancehall to hip hop, and the tracks are slick, yet surprisingly organic. The approach is refreshing and it's very clear that there's a drummer behind the controls as the rhythms continually jar the listener. Immediate Action Series will feature extremely limited edition releases from high profile electronic artists in hand screened packaging from Dianogah's J. Ryan.
