1999, Greyslate/Alpha Relish (Ireland)
"With a contribution to the Road Relish singles club and now this new 7" single, the Rednecks (can I call them that?) are hopefully building up a good head of steam towards an album. In some ways it's unfair to put any tags on or try to pigeon hole this record, but, in reality, I suppose you need to know what ballpark we're in. 'In Hindsight' is the harder of the two tracks, operating in Slint, Sink and even Fugazi territory. A bruising instrumental with a slight hint of aggression but which still has enough melody not to bludgeon or harass the listener. 'Eugene's Hot Lunch' on the other hand is absolutely beautiful stuff. Again an instrumental, it's gentle and soothing, feeding the listener with images while never quite pointing out what it's about. Rednecks!!, these guys are the Ry Cooders of hardcore." - Dave Roberts.
