In Your Time

Priestbird (A reference to a character in one of their songs that looks after the bird spirits on the afterlife) is a new group comprised of the former members of the instrumental prog trio Tarantula AD. Their debut album as Priestbird is a multi-layered and dualistic affair, beginning with heavy opener 'Life Not Lost' and quickly morphing pace with the sublime 'Season Of The Sun.' Songs like the title track and 'Last To Know' present lush, soothing and almost otherworldly sounds alongside the stark orchestration of tracks like 'Kliminz' and 'Mandog.' The music harbors a lyricism and visual quality that characterizes the artists' former work in Tarantula AD, yet is far more approachable.
