1999, Misra
Drummer/multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Barnes, best known for his work in
bands like NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL, The GERBILS, and I'd have to guess OLIVIA
TREMOR CONTROL and MUSIC TAPES (but I'd be guessing), alas those are his
"side-projects" and BABLICON is his current, full-time project! A weird,
shifting lexicon of jazz rhythms and resilient grooves recalling early SOFT
MACHINE, disjointed improvisation akin to BEEFHEART, pop-sorcery comparable
to Disney? Plus dada vocal rants and exquisite sound collage, lost outtakes
from FAUST Tapes perhaps?
