2009, Second Motion
Tommy Keene is has released his first solo album in nearly three years, In The Late Bright via Second Motion Records. The 11-track album, co-produced by Keene and R. Walt Vincent (Pete Yorn, James Blunt), was recorded in Keene's Los Angeles home earlier this year and features a wide range of songs from the rollicking opener, 'Late Bright', to his first recorded instrumental Elevated.
His most recent release, Blues and Boogie Shoes, was a duet with Pollard, dubbing the outfit the Keene Brothers. In The Late Bright marks Keene's eight full-length album. The advance buzz from Keene fans that have heard In the Late Bright is that it is the third great Tommy Keene album in a row, following 2005's Crashing the Ether.
This is no comeback or a return to form, just more great music from a guy nearly three decades into his career who appears to be just hitting his stride.
